Rachel Cornett

Hi, I'm Rachel
Nice to meet you!

My two most dreaded questions…what do you do and where are you from.  Short answer, I’m an Agent - Artist - Almost Local, usually wearing flip-flops!

Whether I'm helping someone with their real estate needs or working on a creative project, chances are you'll find me in flip-flops!

I’m a native Floridian, but I’ve lived in several states and have visited many more…a total of 40 so far! My dad's career brought our family to three coasts, five states, and a dozen cities. I still remember being in an agent's office in TX, a kid in awe of the MLS binders. It was always exciting to drive up to houses, spin around and do cartwheels in empty spaces, and imagine how I'd decorate my room. I’ve been passionate about home and design since I was a little girl with a dollhouse, spending hours moving tiny furniture around. I met my husband at the University of Florida. We moved to North Carolina and have loved calling the Triangle home. We built our first home and started our family in Fuquay-Varina. In 2004, our relocation journey began, including six moves...three states, and seven cities.

Scouting areas/neighborhoods/schools, organizing the move, and getting our family settled became a career. Some homes didn't need much work and a few were full on fixer-uppers. I’m proud to say I can now work a jackhammer and hang drywall. We lived like tourists, made forever friends, and wonderful memories.

I’ve worn a lot of hats along the way- Artist, 2nd grade and Prek Teacher, Aquatics Director, PTA Mom, HBA Membership Director, and Lighting Sales Coordinator. Most recently, I’ve worked for the nonprofit Fuquay-Varina Downtown Association planning community events, and working with town departments, local organizations, business owners, newcomers, and locals. I still serve on the FVDA Arts Committee. With an array of experience in education and service-oriented careers, I love being able to combine my passions and help my clients with their real estate needs, guiding them through buying, selling, or investing.

I’m an active member of the Fuquay-Varina community, volunteering my time and talents where I can be of service. I completed the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce Leadership program, and love helping others connect and become involved. In my downtime, I'm working on publishing children's books, painting, completing DIY projects around the house, spending time with family and friends, and traveling to destinations where flip-flops are required.
